Bried Bio:
Carving out hope. Building opportunity. Fortifying stronger communities. That’s what’s taking shape at Trades Guild: a registered non-profit organization that provides on-the-job career training in woodwork and carpentry, lifelong mentoring, skills coaching and community connections to our city’s most vulnerable. Founded in Calgary in 2018, Trades Guild works with individuals from all different corners—from all different backgrounds. Some are re-entering the workforce after struggles with mental health issues. Others have worked hard to overcome homelessness or conquer addiction. Some simply lack finances or the skills needed to earn a living. ALL want to achieve something more. Together with the community’s support, Trades Guild helps them rebuild their lives with their own two hands. Here, we empower apprentices through a multi-faceted program that not only imparts valuable trades-oriented training but also offers life-skills mentoring to help ensure their continued growth, development and long-term success. In the process, Trades Guild helps break harmful cycles and sets the foundation for lifelong change.
